REPLENISHMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OPTIMIZATION

CONTEXT

With a network of 1000+ stores, a major fashion retailer decided to improve the store’s assortment and replenishment management.

CHALLENGES

The goal was to optimize the assortment at the store level and the inventory allocation and shipping from the single stores’ distribution center.

SOLUTION

Considering the sales budget for the specific category at the store level, Ublique allocates single items and their quantity to each store, minimizing the expected over-stock and stock-out, in other words, controlling the sell-through. The Ublique’s multi-objective optimizer permits the organization to dynamically adapt the assortment and the quantities at the single-store level, considering several logistics, commercial, and merchandise constraints and the availabilities of the stocks.

RESULTS

PREDICTIVE STORE REPLENISHMENT

CONTEXT

The variabilities of the demand, due to multiple factors, pushed our Customer, a significant Fashion retailer, to improve the matching between the demand and the product allocation at the store/product level, dynamically adjusting the stocks.

CHALLENGES

Predict at the level of single-product, size, single store, to optimize the on-season product allocation to stores.

SOLUTION

The automated-multi-paradigms predictive platform in Ublique, weekly generates a new forecast to predict quantities of single items (color & size) for each store. Millions of forecasts are automatically generated. Based on such information and the stock at the central and store levels, a vertical Ublique optimizer allocates the on-season goods. This optimization includes, where convenient, the movement of products from one store to another.
